By now you've probably heard that a majority of you will be staying at the Holiday Inn at the Country Club Plaza. It's a fantastic part of town and I wanted to give you as much info as possible.
What to do in the area. If you aren't familiar with Kansas City and Plaza there is alot to do within walking distance at the Plaza or just North on Main Street about 5-10 minutes in the car to Crown Center, the Cross Roads Arts District or the Kansas City Power & Light District.

The Plaza is an upscale shopping district in Kansas City. It was the second shopping center in the world designed to accommodate shoppers arriving by automobile. Established in 1923 and designed architecturally after Seville, Spain, the Plaza is composed of high-end retail establishments, restaurants, and entertainment venues, as well as offices.

The Cross Roads Art District - website
The Crossroads Arts District is an historic neighborhood near downtown Kansas City, centered at approximately 19th Street and Baltimore Avenue, between Downtown's Central Business District and Crown Center. It is the city's main art gallery district and center for the visual arts. Dozens of galleries are located in its renovated warehouses and industrial buildings. It is also home to numerous restaurants, housewares shops, architects, designers, and other visual artists. As well, the district has several live music venues.
